As far as what I recommend to athletes now from a coaching perspective: Creatine, Vitamin D, Fish Oil, Beta Alanine, and Magnesium. Outside of that a lot of supplements are pretty worthless, and you can get most of your protein and carbs from diet alone.

Lastly, taking your vitamins daily in order to keep your body running and operating optimally. A multivitamin, fish oil, 10,000 iu D3, zinc, and 500g of vitamin C daily as a minimum is a great start.

I wake up every morning at 4:30 because I’m crazy and am usually at the gym by around 6 to 6:15 a.m. because I like to get my workouts out of the way early since, on days I do have a job, I can still make an early call time. Right when I wake up, I eat. I eat one cup of egg whites with a handful of spinach and half of a sweet potato. It’s very random but I’ve eaten it every single day for probably five years and it’s working so I ain’t fixing it! Taking multivitamins such as cod liver or fish oil is also advisable. Rest and recovery also aren’t emphasized as much as training itself. I can assure you, without proper rest and recovery, the entire process becomes counter-productive. It’s essential to growth, prioritize rest and recovery as much as you physically can.
